Day 5: Apps for Multiple Disabilities Lecture

I discovered that there is a LOT of apps for people with disabilities!!  Every time Barb would mention an app during her lecture, one or two past or present students would come to mind that the app would work for. Some of them, like Pocket Pond, I downloaded for myself to use.

The vBook app, which highlights the text as it reads it, would be perfect for two of my past students who have decoding disabilities, but can comprehend text at grade level. I am comtemplating calling their mothers over the summer to share this information with. Of course, they would need to buy an IPod Touch if the new high school couldn't provide it, but they would at least have the information to share with the high school staff. Dragon Dictation would work well with these two sttudents as well.

I really like the Bigmagifier app to. It would work for my parents, who are starting to squint to see smaller print.
